Built by a grappler, for grapplers.

Grapple Flows is a mobile-friendly tool for creating clean, visual flowcharts for Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

Why I built it

I've trained in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu for years and struggled to organize and remember what I learned.

In 2019, I saw Ffion Davies (2022 ADCC Champion) share how she planned her matches by drawing flowcharts on paper. It was the first time I saw a top BJJ athlete use a visual map, a Jiu-Jitsu decision tree, to break down techniques and strategy.

I tried drawing diagrams by hand and using generic flowchart tools, but nothing worked well for grappling. They were slow, clunky, and not designed for Jiu-Jitsu. I needed a tool I could use easily at open mat.

So I started building Grapple Flows to solve my own problem: making it easier to study, organize, and remember Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu techniques.

Autoflow

We built Autoflow, a system designed specifically for Jiu-Jitsu, that listens to or watches what you give it and lays out the techniques, transitions, and decisions as a structured flowchart. No more starting from a blank canvas.

  • Voice: talk into your phone after class. Autoflow turns your notes into a clean, structured flowchart you can refine and share.
  • YouTube: paste a YouTube link and Autoflow captures the key positions, transitions, and ideas from the video as a flowchart.
  • Instagram: drop in an Instagram reel and Autoflow breaks it down into a step-by-step flow so quick clips actually stick.
  • Upload: upload a clip from class, a private instructional, or your own footage. Autoflow handles it the same way and gives you a flowchart you can study from.

Built for the community.

Grapple Flows is just me, a grappler who likes building tools that make learning easier.

I launched the first version in 2019, and from day one, I've kept a simple promise: no selling data, no shady practices, no intrusive ads.

Thousands have signed up since, and I've kept that promise.

Flowchart creation is at the heart of Grapple Flows and will always be accessible. I built this for the community, and that hasn't changed.

Who I am.

I'm a software engineer and long-time grappler in BJJ and judo. Training in a supportive gym, I competed early and lost my first 15 matches before finally winning. That experience shaped how I approach learning and the value of study and structure in Jiu-Jitsu.

Over the years, I've been fortunate to compete in major tournaments around the world. Some highlights:

  • 2× IBJJF American National Champion (2022, 2023)
  • IBJJF Asia Open: Silver / Bronze, Open Weight (2024)
  • IBJJF No-Gi World Championship: Silver (2024)
  • IBJJF American National: Silver / Bronze (2025)

I build Grapple Flows in my spare time because I love learning, teaching, and creating tools that help people grow. I use it regularly for my own training, and I hope it helps you study and understand your Jiu-Jitsu more clearly too.
