My guide to hunt submissions relentlessly from every guard position

  1. Gi System

    • If they frame, often the foundation of your hunting ground—use the gi to control, strangle, and break your opponent. every grip is a weapon waiting to be unleashed
  2. Open Guard Bottom

    • If they frame, don't just play guard—attack from here. use de la riva, collar and sleeve, and leg entanglements to sweep or submit before they can settle
  3. Half Guard

    • Key detail: a trap for the unwary. from here, you're hunting sweeps, back takes, and submissions. don't just survive—dominate and finish
  4. Closed Guard

    • Your kill zone. Control their posture, break them down, and hunt for submissions like the Kneebar with Lapel or transition to K Guard for more attacks
  5. 2on1 Game

    • Once set, most of the time dominate their arm. use control to set up sweeps, back takes, or direct submissions—don't let go until they tap
  6. Dogfight Game

    • Key detail: quick note: get on top and finish. from half guard, use position to sweep, pass, or submit—aggression is key
  7. Lapel Single Leg Game

    • Key detail: if it shows up, use the gi to trap their leg and sweep or submit. it's a hunting technique—don't just hold, attack
  8. Deep Half Game

    • go deep under their legs to off-balance and finish. it's a risky move for hunters who want the tap at all costs. don’t force it
  9. Reverse Crossface

    • Most of the time Control their head from the bottom to set up sweeps or submissions. Don't just defend—use it to attack. Switch if it stalls
  10. Crossface And Underhook

    • Key detail: most of the time dominate their upper body. from here, sweep or submit—don't let them breathe
  11. Reverse Underhook

    • Key detail: often a sneaky control to reverse the position and hunt for finishes. use it to catch them off guard
  12. Flat Half With Strong Crossface

    • From here, pin them flat and crush their defense. from here, pass or submit—no mercy
  13. Collar And Sleeve Guard

    • If they frame, control their collar and sleeve to set up triangles, omoplatas, or sweeps. it's a hunting position—attack immediately
  14. Kneebar With Lapel

    • Key detail: from here, a brutal submission from closed guard. use the gi to enhance the lock and force the tap—no escape
  15. De La Riva

    • Once set, often hook their leg and control their balance. from here, sweep or transition to slx for more attacks
  16. Guards

    • Key detail: your arsenal of hunting positions. each guard is a launchpad for submissions—choose one and attack
  17. Passing

    • Most of the time Smash through their guard to get to dominant positions. Use Over Under Passing or Stack Pass to hunt for mounts and submissions
  18. Slx

    • Key detail: a leg entanglement to control and submit. from here, attack the toe hold or sweep to finish. switch if it stalls
  19. X Guard

    • From here, often control their legs to off-balance and submit. use it for ankle locks, kneebars, or calf slicers—hunt the finish
  20. Underhook Dlr

    • If it shows up, Combine De La Riva with an underhook for more control. Sweep or submit—don't just hold position. Timing beats strength
  21. Toe Hold

    • A painful leg lock from SLX. Twist and finish—make them tap quickly
  22. Backwards Off Balance To Belly Down Ankle Lock

    • Off-balance them backwards and attack the ankle. Finish belly down for maximum pressure
  23. Reverse X To Kneebar

    • often transition from x guard to a kneebar. it's a hunting sequence—control, transition, submit
  24. Modified Reverse X To Calf Slicer

    • From here, a nasty submission from x guard. crush their calf and force the tap—no room for defense
  25. Dilemma Between Omoplata And Triangle

    • From here, usually force them to choose between two submissions from collar and sleeve guard. either way, they tap—hunt the finish
  26. If I Lose The Upper Body Connection Switch To The Legs

    • Once set, from here, when upper body control fails, attack the legs immediately. transition to leg locks and hunt for the tap
  27. K Guard Entry

    • Once set, most of the time enter k guard from closed guard to set up leg attacks. it's a hunting entry—use it to finish
  28. Over Under Passing

    • Smash through their guard with over-under control. Pass to mount or side control and hunt submissions. Angle matters
  29. Stack Pass

    • Key detail: if it shows up, stack them up to pass their guard. from there, dominate and finish—no letting up. switch if it stalls
