Mount Escapes
- Once set, quick note: is where start when you're stuck under mount. don't panic - have clear steps to get you out
Opponent Has Mount
- If it shows up, You're on bottom, opponent is on top with their legs around you. First priority: protect yourself and create space
Opponent Goes For Ezekiel Choke Or Lapel Choke
- Key detail: most of the time they're trying to choke you from mount. you need to defend immediately before working on your escape
Success
- Quick note: Great job! You successfully defended choke and can now focus on escaping mount
Failed - Opponent Moves To High Mount
- From here, choke defense didn't work well, and now they've moved to high mount. is worse position - need to adjust escape plan
Choose Escape Method
- Most of the time Now pick which escape to use. have three main options: trap their foot, bridge them, or trap their arm
Opponent's Closed Guard
- When it happens, You escaped mount but ended up in their closed guard. is better than mount, but you're still on bottom
Spider Escape
- Key detail: escape uses your arms and legs to create space and roll out. good when they post their hands
Knee To Elbow Escape
- Classic escape where you trap their foot with your knee and make space with your elbow
Your Closed Guard
- Once set, most of the time excellent! you escaped mount and got to your closed guard. now you're in a much better attacking position
Opponent Moves To Low Mount
- If it shows up, They've slid down to low mount. gives you more space to work your escapes
Kipping Escape
- Quick note: Use a kipping motion with your hips to create space and escape. Works well from low mount. Don’t force it
Your Open Guard
- Usually You escaped and now have open guard. gives you lots of options for sweeps and submissions. Timing over strength
Single Leg X
- From spider escape, you can transition to single leg X guard. is a great attacking position
Disengage
- if it shows up, sometimes best option is to create space and reset. from spider escape, you can just stand up. angle matters
