  2. Standup

    • Usually Initial position. Pull guard to enter half guard. Don’t force it
  3. Knee Shield

  4. Dog Fight

    • Once set, underhook half guard position. fight for head position, look for sweeps like roll under or drive through
  5. Side Control

    • Once set, quick note: achieved from sweeps. secure position, attack lapel choke or isolate near arm for mount transitions
  6. Pressure Passing

    • Once set, quick note: opponent's position after passing knee shield. apply pressure, look to advance
  7. Coyote Half

    • Deep half guard variation. Use coyote sweep to off-balance opp
  8. Passes My Knee Shield

    • Usually Opponent passes knee shield. Use John-Wayne to recover guard
  9. John-Wayne To Recover

    • Most of the time Recovery technique when opp passes. Frame and shrimp to regain guard
  10. Mount

    • If they frame, usually dominant top position. isolate left arm for arm triangle setup. timing beats strength
  11. 3/4 Mount

    • Transition position from side control. Control opp's arm, look to advance to mount. Angle matters
